Writing 101: Day 3 Celebrate three songs that are significant to you

writing-101-june-2014-class-badge-2The first song that comes to my mind would be The Easter Song.  Even though the song is appropriate for any time of the year.

This song is so uplifting to me and will put me in such a peaceful place when I am feeling stress.  It returns me to a great place in my mind.
It allows me to collect my thoughts and heal myself from any problems that might have come in to make me feel like the walls are crushing in on me.
By the end of the song I am ready to go out and begin again.

The second song that comes to mind today is Leonard Cohen singing

Now perhaps this would this put most of you to sleep by now by for me it is an inspiration.  Iam now inspired to carry on this story and my day.
I have listened to these songs right along with you while I was writing this piece.  If it was not raining outside I would be out there doing all kinds of yard work.
Hopefully our rainy season will end soon so that the remainder of the yard work can get completed.

My last choice for the day comes from Josh Groban You Raise Me Up

I hope that this video also will also raise you up to make you want to go forward and do whatever you were not sure that you could do.  May it help you to find
that inner strength that you have been looking for in your life.

May you feel like you are blessed today and that it will be a good day no matter what obsticles lie ahead.  Face them one at a time.  Pray in between for the strength to carry on.  You can do it.

May today be the first day of the rest of your life.

Have a Blessed Day,

Tammye Honey

Since my hand is in the “new” soft cast it is impossible to get it near the keyboard.
I am behind in blogging and do apologize.
The throbbing is like a toothache combined with a migraine and earache but in the hand.
They are guessing three weeks of this till I have my hand back.

When Is A Vacuum Not A Vacuum?

Weekly Writing Challenge: The Best Medicine

  • Write about a sad or particularly difficult situation you faced, and find the levity in what happened or how you dealt with it.

If life were perfect, cats and dogs would not shed.
Carpet runners would not collect the fur every time they run past them.
My hubby would not require a surgery that we have to wait to get in for.
I would not have fractured two fingers on my left hand.
Hubby would not have PTSD.
Hubby would not think my vacuum sounds like engines of a fighter jet.

Put them in a jar and shake them up and you have a sticky mess.

One napper, four shedders and two fingers that do not want to be helpful later, you can see my delimma.

I try to quietly sweep.  It picks up two small cats twice a day yet does not seem to help.

When he used to drive to go somewhere I would celebrate by dragging out the vacuum and have to empty twice per room.

The birds love me.  All the nesting material they need in one stop shopping.
They have until the lawncare people come to mow the lawn again to use all the materials for their nests.
Since it smells like our cats, you would think that they would not want to use it at all.
Perhaps it is to throw the cats off the trail of new babies.

Weekly Writing Challenge: 1,000 Words, Take Two Really

Weekly Writing Challenge: 1,000 Words, Take Two

by michelle w. on January 28, 2013

For some of us, blogging is personal. Others are trying to educate or entertain; many more are hybrids. Yet we’re all storytellers. Creative Writing Challenges help you to push your writing boundaries, show off your blogging chops, and, hopefully, spark more post ideas.

To participate, tag your post with DPchallenge or leave a link to it in the comments. (It would also be great if you could link to this post to encourage people to take part – the more the merrier!)  Your post should be specifically written in response to this challenge. We’ll keep an eye on the tag and highlight some of our favorite posts on Freshly Pressed on Friday.

You had a lot of fun with the A Picture Is Worth 1,000 Words challenge, and we had a lot of fun reading your entries – so let’s go for Round Two. Your challenge this week is to write a post based on this picture:

Couple Embracing

I had waited so long for his return from abroad.  The mere thought of holding him close to me once again.  Feeling his breath against my neck. His arms held tight around me. I would not care who was passing by on the street that day.  I would not care about the graffiti on the walls that surround us.  Just to have him near me once again.
The lingering smells of the local shoppes as I hold him there not wanting to let go.  Blocking the traffic of walkers on the steps as we embrace.
To have him back safely in my arms and out of harms way.  A priceless thought that has gotten me through each day of his absence.  It has been a long eighteen months to wait.  Each night longing for the moment on the street when he would step from that trolley and be mine again.
Safely returned to me once more
