Daily Prompt: My Goals For Blogging

Daily Prompt: Goals

When you started your blog, did you set any goals?
Have you achieved them?
Have they changed at all?

Thanks for the great idea, Ritu!

When I began my blog sites my goals were simple.

list

  • To get the word out there about the businesses that we have.
  • To have a spot to talk about all of the favorite recipes that I love to create or that I find
  • To start a cookbook
  • To have a spot where I could write and do it on a regular basis as a hobby of sort that was something that I could do anytime of day or night without making noise.
My other hobbies come with a bit of noise.  A few also come with smells that my hubby can’t tolerate.   It is difficult to crochet late at night due to a light factor.
I can just come in my office and type with my quiet keyboard and it does not bother him at all unless it is a YouTube day.  Then I just turn off my speakers.
  • To have a spot to create fun creations of recycling items and making them into totally new ones.  Taking something that would have seen the landfill and making it something that is totally different and quite useful in the home.  Making the item so that it is beautiful and does not necessarily look like the original.
  • To have a spot that is quite entertaining and funny.  To share funny moments that I have found either in emails or on the internet (Facebook).

Have I achieved them?
I feel they are there, yet I need to still tweak them and since I am still learning about linking and various other portions of Word Press, I do not get the traffic flow to them that I would like yet.  I consider them still a work in progress.

Have they changed at all?
Oh yes, my blog sites are always being changed and upgraded as I find new ways to do things.  I am still in a learning process so I am certain there will be more changes to come in this coming year.

I have to admit that the Daily Prompt and the A-Z Challenges are two ways that I have been able to blog daily and to learn the changes that are needed to perfect and make my site the way I would like it to look.

Daily Prompt: Seeking Advice

Daily Prompt: Key Takeaway

Give your newer sisters and brothers-in-WordPress one piece of advice based on your experiences blogging.

If you’re a new blogger, what’s one question you’d like to ask other bloggers?

(Make sure to visit one another’s posts today, to check ‘em out and respond!)

I feel that I am still new at blogging and the concept of how to even set up a blog properly.  I have been writing here at Word Press for about a year now and am still learning.  I still have so much to learn about just the set up.

I blog from the heart most of the time or about something that really sparks my interest.

I see that several of the blogs that I follow have just one theme.  I have several blogs instead.  Each blog has it’s own theme.

Since I did not want to mix my businesses with my cooking and my daily prompt with my cooking, that is why I set it up this way.

Dear knowledgeable ones should I have kept it with one blog and have just made different pages on the one blog?
Now that I have a year under my belt I have finally learned enough to ask this question.
When I first started, I did not know enough to even know what questions to ask.

Here are what other Daily Prompt Writers had to say on the subject:

  1. The People Who Live Inside The Bar Chart | The Magic Black Book

Daily Prompt: He Said We Are Getting Filled Quickly With Vendors

Daily Prompt: S/he Said

Pause whatever you’re doing, and ask the person nearest you what they’re thinking about (call someone if you have to). Write a post based on it.

403333_2674489254585_1026806606_32372476_1771327933_a

He is my hubby…and has been up since the very early hours of morning.  He is busy advertising for Vendors to participate in MikeFest 2013.
As I walked through to let the dogs out and feed the cats, my early morning routine…I was greeted with “We are almost Full”.
My response was “Yes, Good Morning, I love you too…I know.”

beautiful-blogger-award

As I came to get on Word Press to start my morning articles for my various blog sites, I had a beautiful message from another writer here on Word Press who always has very interesting material.
Today was a surprise it was the Beautiful blogger award.  This came from http://theseeker57.wordpress.com/2013/04/13/re-giftingor-white-elephantor/.

This way, you can go see what she said and I do not have to quote her.  My two nominees are:

http://jitterygt.wordpress.com/ who is a daily prompt blogger and also finds time to do various articles throughout the day of interest besides.

I could fill my entire page and a few more with nominees.  Just see my side wall with likes and you will see who is deserving of this award.  Since it requires only two…

http://babyjill7.wordpress.com/2013/04/13/heart-of-tears/, Not only was this article interesting, it tugged on the heart as it was a true story of a mom and dad coping with a child with a difficulty that keeps that child set apart at times from others.  Some call it a disability.  The way she describes it is a temporary set back.  It is a must read.

Thank you to Word Press for changing my thought pattern.  For introducing me to writers that I might have never met.  For allowing me to see styles of writing, photography, poetry, cooking and humor that I would have possibly missed had I not became a daily prompt writer.

Here is what several other Daily Prompt Early Bird Writers had to say on the subject:

  1. Daily Prompt: S/he Said | Viktorshald’s Blog
  2. 96. Claire To The Rescue. DPChallenge | Sofie’s Diary
  3. S/he said, who? | The Nameless One
  4. My short story “Platypus” (in Russian) published in “Belgorod Business Class” magazine (second number) | Inside My Glitching Mind
  5. Mathematecian sister.. | ayimas
  6. St Paul’s, Reflected. | thoughtsofrkh
  7. Moods | Spunky Wayfarer
  8. “Wala.” | Daily Prompt: S/he Said | likereadingontrains
  9. Daily Prompt: S/He Said | Mitten’sKittens

Check there in a few hours and you will be amazed at how many writers there are who do the Daily Prompt.

For an added bonus, for some reason there are two prompts today…not certain why… so I am off to do the next prompt then the Letter L with YouTube so stay tuned.

Stay safe and have a wonderful weekend.
