Daily Prompt: Growing Up

Daily Prompt: The Natural World

Describe your first memorable experience exploring and spending time in nature.
Were you in awe?
Or were you not impressed?
Would you rather spend time in the forest or the city?

Photographers, artists, and poets: show us NATURE.

When I was a child growing up times were so different from now.
It was before the riots in Detroit started back in 1968.
A time when we could go to the local field at the end of the block.
A time when the entire neighborhood of children could gather at the playground and play all day.
The parents stayed home and did their chores.

Each child was called home by a certain whistle.
We knew to come when called or there would be consequences.

When I was older after 68′ I had moved to the country in Upstate New York.
I would spend my Summers either alone under the apple trees reading or working on a neighbors farm.

Although I missed my friends from growing up, I began to enjoy the solitude of being alone with nature.

Daily Prompt: Taking A Roadtrip

Daily Prompt: Trains, Planes, and Automobiles

You’re going on a cross-country trip.
Airplane, train, bus, or car?
(Or something else entirely — bike? Hot air balloon?)

Photographers, artists, poets: show us TRAVEL.

I think that today my roadtrip has been on a broom…after watching the interview by Matt Lauer with Paula Deen today I posted a copy of it on my Facebook account.

So Hillary Clinton made jokes about Upstate NY people, and Martha Stewart went to jail…this woman had a gun held to her head and is persecuted for saying a word one time…what about the rappers of the world are they next?

What ever happened to not being biased when reporting or interviewing?
First of all she was at gun point back in 1986 when this happened and it was from a statement to the police.
My question was to the respondents in Facebook are the rappers next?  Why did Food Network take so long?

On a brighter note we have heard from Su Ho Woo who is traveling from Washinton DC to California by bicycle to encourage people to be aware of the need for peace in South Korea.

If you would like to send him a word of encouragement https://www.facebook.com/suho.woo.5 to cheer him on his journey.
He was in Flagstaff Arizona on June 21st.

I am going to have to do a road trip to use my gift certificate for http://www.joann.com unless I use the entire $100.00 online as the closest store is over 100 miles away from my home.  Not happy about that one.

Well now I am off to a road trip to get this finger looked at an hopefully be told the splint can finally come off.  It has been a long two weeks.

Perhaps I will stop smacking my hand so much and can get back to sewing, crocheting and housework.
So for now my only road trip is two visits this week to the doctors.  Today is my hand and Friday is another mammogram.

Very Inspiring Blogger Award 2013

very-inspiring

http://mischievouseyez.wordpress.com

Here are the rules:

State 7 things about yourself –

Wow, 7 things that I did not state in Last Award lol…

  1. I am naturally a blonde but in Winter my hair darkens to a brown ash.  Light blonde in  the Summer sun.
  2. My hair is almost to my waist in length.  I am thinking about getting it cut.
  3. Some days I get really frustrated from my hubby not being able to hear me, other days I enjoy it.
  4. I do not like taking any form of medications.  Over the counter is not an option with my allergies.
  5. Although some days, I do not feel like I have any, my friends tell me that I am the most patient person they have ever met.
  6. My tolerance level can go from 10 to 0 in a flash with certain subjects.
  7. I love to listen to the windchimes in my office through the security cameras.  It is very relaxing to me.  Some of my friends say it would drive them insane.

Answer the Following Questions

1- Whats your favorite food??

I would have to say that my comfort foods are many. Macaroni and Cheese and Chicken Noodle Soup are top on my list.

2- Twitter or Facebook?

Both actually and Neither actually lol…I have 3 Facebook Accounts, one for each business and my hubby maintains them.  I post to Facebook and Twitter from here and Pinterest.  To just post on Facebook or Twitter, I do not do.

3- Favorite Novel

I have yet to pick up a Mary Higgins Clark, Robert B. Parker or a James Patterson Novel and be disappointed.  Since I started blogging I do not read books as much as I would like to.

4- Who inspires you the most?

My grand children and my students.

5- What is your favorite color?

Blue is an all time favorite although I do enjoy bright colors as well.

6- What did you want to be when you were small?

I grew up wanting to be a nurse.

7- What is your current favorite song?

I have found myself humming this tune a lot lately.  Not that it is my all time favorite.

I would have to admit that one of my favorites is Home.

8- What/Who do you fear the most?

Spiders, snakes and Tennessee Ticks.  They all creep up on you

9- What is the most toughest dare have you been asked to do? Did you do it?

Don’t usually play Truth or Dare so it is rare that someone will dare me anything… I probably would die trying.

10-What is the best thing you like about yourself?

I am not 21 anymore.  I have a brain in my head and know how to use it.  I have a mouth and use it when I feel that I need to be heard.

11- Are you obsessed with your blog stats??

Not at all.  Could not tell you what a single one is lol.

Strange Weather

I can certainly see why Tennessee gets the tornadoes that it gets…

Since yesterday it was close to ninety degrees Fahrenheit here and today it is currently sixty three degrees Fahrenheit with the high to only get to sixty six today.  Now we do not reach our high normally till around 4 or 5 PM…Mother Nature wants to wait till people are out of work to enjoy it lol…

Tomorrow it will be close to 80 and Sunday it will be close to 90… I am amazed that people do not constantly get sick down here with all of the drastic temperature changes since the body can’t adjust to temperature….

In Upstate New York it is simple…it is COLD…in the Winter it is well below 0…snow around your waist…

In May you begin to melt…

By the end of June, the children get out of school and it begins to warm to about 70…

In July you might see 80.

In August it does not matter what you see because there is so much rain it does not matter…

In September the children are back to school and it is almost 90 and you would have loved to have gone and done something but can’t.

October shows signs of frost

November you are looking for snow through May again… see how simple….

Our Spring in Tennessee is just like this….

Then it dries right out lol….

Hope your day is full of sunshine and laughter….
