Daily Prompt: Giving Thanks For What I Have

Daily Prompt: Keeping up with the Jones’

Tell us about the one luxury item you wish you could afford, in as much detail as you can.
Paint a picture for us.

Photographers, artists, poets: show us COVET.

IMG_0002

I am really happy with what we have.
I can not think of anything that I would covet that someone else has.
We are semi healthy for our age.
We have two healthy dogs and a cat.
We are happily married now for almost 5 years.

We own our home (Have a mortgage but who doesn’t these days?)
We live in the country but are not far from the city.
We live in a wonderful neighborhood

We have a lot of comfort features in life.
(Dishwasher, Microwave, Washer, Dryer, Big Screen TV, Internet, Computers, WiFi, etc)
We work our businesses from our home and in our jammies most of the time.
We are blessed with healthy children and many grandchildren.
We have several wonderful kind friends.
We have heat, running water and food in fridge and freezer as well as the pantry.
We have clothes in our closet.

What would we want that we could add to that?  More Money?
Perhaps that would be nice.  Then we could pay off our Mortgage early.
The payments are made each month so we are happy.

I ask my readers, what would you want that you do not have?

Enlighten me please with a comment…

Be careful what you wish for…

Weekly Writing Challenge: Dear TammyeHoney

pooky12

Weekly Writing Challenge: Dear ____________________

by Erica on October 28, 2013

To participate, tag your post with DPchallenge and include a link to this post, to generate a pingback and help others find the challenges. Please make sure your post has been specifically written in response to this challenge. We’ll highlight some of our favorites on Freshly Pressed on Friday, and in our monthly newsletter.

For this week’s writing challenge, channel your inner Abigail Von Buren. Experiment with the question and answer format. Taking inspiration from a question you’ve been asked recently, whether in conversation with a friend or sent in from a reader, don your best counselor hat and share your expertise.

Not up for kickstarting your career as an advice columnist? We’ve got a few more ways to help get you involved with this week’s focus on advice.

  • What’s the best, or worst, piece of advice you’ve ever gotten?
  • You’re the most important writer in the world, and everyone will be tuning in to your blog to listen to the one bit of knowledge you most want to share. What is it?
  • Do you live by the advice you give? Sure, it’s easy to dish out opinions, but are you a pillar of your own beliefs?

I give lessons on Cooking, Crocheting, Sewing and Knitting on a regular basis.  I do not feel this is classified as advice.  It is simply someone who has worked the problem successfully at a prior time who is able to lend a helping hand to someone who has never walked that mile yet.

Helping a friend who is a new mother and is nursing her first baby my advice is very simple.  The baby will let you know when things are not quite right.  If things are flowing in a set pattern and routine then life is good.  The plumber never puts in new pipes if there is not a problem.

If a problem is not going to make a difference a year from now, perhaps it does not need to be a top priority on the list.  A lot of problems have a way of working themselves out on their own without doing anything but praying for the correct way for God’s will to be done.  I always to suggest to pray for three days on the same subject before making a decision.  This gives a person time to think with a clearer head and thought patterns.

Just thinking before you speak as to how it will have an effect on others will sometimes change the wording that would have otherwise been blurted out.

Remembering others and that they have feelings that can get hurt.  To never speak when angry and to bite the tongue if it is going to be a cruel comment will save on an embarasing moment later on.

What questions as my reader would you like to see answered here?

Submit your questions and I will be glad to honestly answer them for you.  (Or find a great source for your answer)

TammyeHoney’s Advice column is now open to her readers.

Bring on the questions….

I am ready and waiting..

Describe a memory or encounter in which you considered your faith, religion, spirituality — or lack of — for the first time.

Photographers, artists, poets: show us FAITH.

CIMG1407

Having faith in God is having your inner light show.  The Daily Prompt question is to tell when it began or if it has ever faded.  That simply brings to mind a poem.

Daily Prompt: Popping A Pill Instead Of Eating?

Daily Prompt: Red Pill, Blue Pill

If you could get all the nutrition you needed in a day with a pill — no worrying about what to eat, no food preparation — would you do it?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us NOURISHMENT.

I have days where this would absolutely be ideal.  It would grow tiresome though as I do love to cook.
I love spending time in my kitchen and the food preparation  is partially what it is all about.
If I popped a pill that would mean that there would never be any more food videos.

That would make me sad.

I did not realize that I had made six videos already till I went to put them on here.

I have actually been tempted to make another one lately.
I just have not found the recipe that sparks me to do it.

What recipe would you like to see made so that you would learn how to make it fast and easily?

Perhaps your responses will spark my next video…all comments will be considered.

If you have a favorite recipe that you would like to be made into a video just send it to my email.

Here are the responses that other Daily Prompt Writers had today about the little pill of nutrition:

  2. Free Your Stomach, and the Rest Will Follow | Do Not Get Sick in the Sink, Please

Weekly Photo Challenge: What Signs Really Mean

Rescued

FaceBook Posting

Weekly Photo Challenge: The Sign Says

Signs. Funny, poignant, symbolic, incorrect, informative, foreshadowing…there are so many signs in the world.
Share a picture of a SIGN and explain why you chose that picture!
I found this on FaceBook and thought it was funny.  To take a sign and then take a picture of your pooch in the garbage?
Someone had an awesome sense of humor.   Even funnier to post as their status on FaceBook.
Perhaps taking a sign for exactly as written is not quite what was intended for this sign.
Here are what other Daily Prompt Weekly Photo Challenges were submitted:
There are several more so check them out…

Daily Prompt: All About A Name

Daily Prompt: Say Your Name

Write about your first name: Are you named after someone or something? Are there any stories or associations attached to it? If you had the choice, would you rename yourself?

Photographers, show us  YOU.

The name Tammye is of English origin. The meaning of Tammye is “palm tree”.

Tammye, is generally used as a girl’s name. It consists of 6 letters and 2 syllables and is pronouncedTa-mmye.

In 2012, it was not one of the top 1000 most popular U.S. girls names.

View the  Tammye Popularity Page to see how the popularity trend for Tammye has changed since 1880, or to compare the popularity of Tammye to other names.

Tammye has no nicknames.

Tammye falls into the tree name category. http://www.ourbabynamer.com/meaning-of-Tammye.html

English names generally consist of a given name, middle name and family name. Many English speaking countries have fairly flexible naming laws. This allows the multicultural families that live in these countries to merge the naming conventions of their faiths or previous nationalities with their current homeland.Biblical names are still very prevelant. Nature, literature, mythology, celebrity, surnames, variants of traditional names and newly invented names are all sources of English given names.

The evolution of English names in the U.K. can be traced to the various conquests and ruling power changes of its early history. The evolution of English names in America has been more influenced by the various influxes of immigrants from different parts of the world during different times in its history. http://www.ourbabynamer.com

The name Emmanuel is of Hebrew origin. The meaning of Emmanuel is “G-d is with us”.

Emmanuel, is generally used as a boy’s name. It consists of 8 letters and 4 syllables and is pronounced E-ma-nu-el.

In 2012, it  ranked 165 out of the top 1000 most popular U.S. boys names.

View the  Emmanuel Popularity Page to see how the popularity trend for Emmanuel has changed since 1880, or to compare the popularity of Emmanuel to other names.

The names EmanueleEmmanouilEmmanueleEmmanuelleImanolImanuelaImmanuelMannie,ManoelManuel are all forms of Emmanuel.

Emmanuel has the diminutive (nickname) Manny.

Some famous bearers of this name include: Emmanuel Lewishttp://www.ourbabynamer.com/meaning-of-Emmanuel.html

At my age it is a little too late to be thinking about changing my name now.  I am established and have an identification so there is no need to even think that way now.

During my years in school I would have rather have been called dog or cat.  I was called anything but my name due to the odd spelling.  People thought it must be pronounced differently so they would go out of their way to call me something else.  I was called Sam by the family in my earlier years due to a cousin who had the name Tommy.  When we were together we never knew which of us was being called so I became Sam.

In older years, some how,  I picked up the nickname Tabitha or Tabby (thanks to Bewitched).  It was easier for people.  In high school there had been several years where there were a slew of Tammy’s in our class and all of our parents had been creative in the spellings of our names.  The teachers went by what street we lived on to reference us when calling on us.  I was Tammye from the country.  Everyone else lived in the local village so they were the street names.

Perhaps that is why I am so unique today.

My husband’s family all call him Shane or Shaney.  His nickname was from the movie Shane.  They think it is funny that he actually goes by Emmanuel or Eman here.

It is all in how you accept your name and learn to live with it.  It was easier for me to write eymmaT  growing up and some people called me Eya.  Just don’t call me late for dinner please.

Now that I live in Tennessee I am either known by Tammye Honey or by Miss Tammye.  That is the proper reference to an older woman in the South to add the Miss before the name.

I grew up hearing people sing to me the same song all the time.

What is special about your name?
If you could change your name, what would you change it to?

Would love to hear all about it so leave me a comment.
