Daily Prompt: Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes,They are Scary

Daily Prompt: Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

by michelle w. on February 4, 2013

You need to make a major change in your life. Do you make it all at once, cold turkey style, or incrementally?

Cold TUrkey

That is an interesting question to answer and I think it really depends on what you are changing.

When the doctor told me that there had to be no more alcohol in my life that was an easy choice when I started to take the blood pressure medication.

The beer that I liked was only available back in New York State, Labatt Blue which is not available in Tennessee.

I really was never very big on mixed drinks and they never liked me very much so giving them up was a good idea…

alcohol

What went down seemed to visit right back up.

So yes this was cold turkey mode…

th

Now as for quitting smoking…I have gone the cold turkey mode for several years and have found myself right back at it…

quit smoking

I tried the gum, then went to try the Chantix till I read the side effects and went running back to the Doctor for another solution.

This time she has come up with an alternate solution that is a cold turkey with a helper.  So we shall see.

I need to get organized.

Running so many businesses out of our home makes that a little difficult.  That is partially why my office looks the way it does.

Certainly not this bad

Hubby has recently moved indoors for his office so he is upset that he can’t use his office to it’s full potential.  Spring will be here soon.

Then perhaps we can make more changes to our lives for the better.  What changes do you have planned for this year?  Would love to hear your thoughts on them

Weekly Writing Challenge: 1,000 Words, Looking Closer

Weekly Writing Challenge: 1,000 Words, Take Two

by michelle w. on January 28, 2013

For some of us, blogging is personal. Others are trying to educate or entertain; many more are hybrids. Yet we’re all storytellers. Creative Writing Challenges help you to push your writing boundaries, show off your blogging chops, and, hopefully, spark more post ideas.

To participate, tag your post with DPchallenge or leave a link to it in the comments. (It would also be great if you could link to this post to encourage people to take part – the more the merrier!)  Your post should be specifically written in response to this challenge. We’ll keep an eye on the tag and highlight some of our favorite posts on Freshly Pressed on Friday.

A Picture is worth a 1000 words

Some times a photograph can say it all without uttering a word.  That is what this photo does for me.

I can not begin to describe everything going on in this picture and give it the justice that it deserves.

Our favorite hangout in the Summer time as the work is finished and it is time to relax while we watch the animals run in the yard around us.

The lighting around the building gives us just enough light to enjoy the evening in a romantic setting yet not draw the bugs of the evening air.

The wind chimes hanging over our heads ring a beautiful song as the night breeze begins to surround us.

Our Sun Tea in one hand and holding each others hands as we just relax and ponder our day or discuss the next one about to approach.

Our Workshop where our wooden benches and plant stands are made by hand or furniture is refinished to make it come back to life.picks from lexar 693

Where we can watch the birds sit calmly on the wires nearby chirping their songs

Weekly Photo Challenge: Delicate

Weekly Photo Challenge:Delicate…

http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2012/12/14/photo-challenge-delicate/

“Delicate could be the tracings of frost on a window, a child’s tiny fingers and toes, the intricate pattern of a tree’s canopy, or something yet-to-be-discovered. So much of this challenge depends on your interpretation of “delicate,” and we look forward to seeing the range of images you capture”.  – Michelle

tammyehoney loves cooking

Hubby of course wants his soup again…I needed something a little different yet healthy so I went for the griddle that was on the stove and added two pieces of tilapia…

I then threw some fresh spinach atop of each then some season all and garlic powder of course…

Covered and allowed to steam

Setting the thermostat to low so I could do other things….

then turned fish once and recovered…

placed one in plate then added….

You got it whipped cream cheese from Philadelphia Brand and it is soooo goood….

Adding second piece of Tilapia and spinach over while still hot….

then dig in…

Dinner in less than 20 minutes….and is actually healthy for you…
