Tell us a moment or an incident that you treasure – not necessarily because it brought you happiness, but because it taught you something about yourself.
Photographers, artists, poets: show us LEARNING.
Today I will be doing my second vendor show for Dove Chocolates.
I have yet to have actually seen a real party.
Luckily the company provides virtual trainings that I have repeatedly attended.
Since my sponsor is ill today I am filling in where she was supposed to be today…
It will be hands on experience to see how much of the material I have learned and kept in my brain.
If you are in the Clarksville Area today near exit 4 I will be at the Quality Inn…come and say hello.
Do you like to learn by book or hands on training…
I am learning to love the virtual world trainings as I can do them in my jammies at anytime of day or night.
Here are what a few of the other Daily Prompt Writers had to say on the subject:
Draft a post with three parts, each unrelated to the another, but create a common thread between them by including the same item — an object, a symbol, a place — in each part.
Photographers, show us SHARING.
My three threads are:
Now to translate my pictures…
There is a storm coming in over Kansas that will reach us today. This simply translates that my big dog Trina will spend the duration of the storm under that blanket that used to be mine.
A friend of mine told me that there are coats that you can purchase to put on the dogs to calm them. The blanket works well, as long as it smells like Snuggle Fabric Softener.
We are settling in and getting ready for the storm. The only rule is no bones in the bed. She loves to try and sneak her milk bones in so they are safe too.
Here are what other Daily Prompt Writers had to Weave this morning:
Facebook has recently come under attack for failing to enforce its own guidelines on hate speech and violent imagery.
Face Book
Is it a website’s job to moderate the content its users post, or should users have complete freedom?
That is an intriguing question. I have tried to post a few videos from You Tube that are on our own site and Face Book has come back and told me no. I thought that there was monitoring of the website. Did the people who used to monitor have to find a new job? There is a filter that is available for the site whereas you can block out certain items such as nudity and pornography or violence. Has this filter been removed?
Is there a happy medium?
There is usually a happy medium to all situations. It may not be the expected outcome, yet a compromise on all sides does help the situation.
If so, how would you structure it?
Hiring more employees who have a specific job might be a great place to start. I understand cross training as it helps a company when it loses employees and someone else is pretrained in that field. The employee can slide into the alternate position with ease and not feel the pressure of a new job. The company continues to run efficiently. Perhaps Face Book should look at how the employees are structured and look at a new scheme in the work place. Losing 15 to 20 employees at the same time does hurt a company. That is when restructure is necessary.
It might mean that the CEO and the Board take a few less vacations abroad. They might want to listen to their employees and see where the internal problems lie. That seems like a smart place to start.
Here are what other Daily Prompt Writers had to say:
Sixteen days on the road is a long trip. Since I had planned for this to be a cross country trip in a way, to last at least 30 days that would put us at our road marker of the midpoint.
My grander scheme was to do this for a year. I am not certain if I have the steam to do that. Time will tell. Can I make it interesting and vibrant enough to keep readers attention and drive to want to come back each day to see where it has gone or will they fade from boredom?
My first stop is a blog site that is new to me and I have enjoyed the wonderful photography:
Next stop is a shout out to someone who wrote a poem to his wife as a gift for their anniversary:
http://ivonprefontaine.com/2013/05/22/marriage/ I felt compelled to mention that as the Daily Prompt today was about “Jealousy” and there is obviously nothing like that going on in their strong relationship.
Turn to your co-workers, kids, Facebook friends, family — anyone who’s accessible — and ask them to suggest an article, an adjective, and a noun. There’s your post title! Now write.
When I walked in and asked hubby about what he would like me to blog about today the only response I received was “It is exactly 48 hours till MikeFest 2013“.
When I asked him if that is what he wanted me to write about, his answer was “Of Course”.

Our blogs are platforms from which we share our experiences, opinions, and views with the online world. ForMind the Gap challenges, we want to hear what you think about a divisive issue. Each challenge will include a poll where you can cast your vote along with your fellow Daily Post participants. After you vote, tell us more about how you feel by expanding on the topic in a blog post. Be sure to visit other participants’ posts to get some healthy discussion going.
To participate, tag your posts with DPchallenge and leave a link to your post in the comments. Please be sure your post has been specifically written in response to this challenge; obvious attempts to link-bait will be deleted. We’ll keep an eye on the tag and highlight some of our favorites on Freshly Pressed each Friday.
This week’s Mind the Gap: Does watching violent movies inspire violence in the real world?
I have noticed with the poll on the site Weekly Writing Challenge that the majority have answered the same as myself. Nice to know that I am not alone. Rather than post about violence and showing what the violence is I offer this tribute.
Now I ask you my readers, What do you think? Here is your chance to speak up. Do you think one is related to the other or is it all in the way we think and are brought up in life?
You’ve been asked to speak at your high school alma mater — about the path of life. (Whoa.) Draft the speech.
Since my graduation class was so large, this is a far cry from my being the “Chosen One” to be doing this speech. I did not come into Herkimer Senior High School in Herkimer New York until my Tenth year. I did participate in sports. However, the wind had been cut from my sails and I did not have the drive that I had in my previous high school where I was active in sports, chorus, the theater and other groups.
I had been pulled in the middle of my tenth year. I landed in the hospital for three months for an exploratory surgery that went bad. I had a stomach pump and two IV’s which I dragged along in the hospital corridors for exercise. I had a tutor to try and keep my school work up till I returned after Spring break.
I was not out to win any popularity contests. I was simply there to finish out my few years and get into college. Something that was put on hold for me till my two daughters were much older and I was divorced.
My words of advice. Do not put your dreams on hold.
Follow your dreams but be sure that they are realistic and are true to yourself. Do not try and do something that is going to come back and make you shoot yourself in the foot later.
I appreciate having waited to go to college later in life. Yes I was older in my class. So was everyone else in my early morning classes. I was able to get good grades and was able to get a good job on campus as a tutor to help supplement my costs of college.
Appreciate your skills and do not be afraid to think outside of the box for what you want in life.
Go after your dreams. They are not going to come knocking at your door and come looking for you.
What would you say to your alma mater if you had the chance?
Would love to hear…
