Daily Post: What Is Your Google Search?

Daily Prompt: Google and Rescue Operation

What was the last thing you searched for online? Why were you looking for it?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us SEARCHING

While helping a friend with a large bit of typing, I decided to add a bit of style and fancy up a boring handbook of policies and procedures so I searched on Google to find a few images that I could paste on the handbook to make it a bit more interesting.  This broke up the pages a little and made it a bit more appealing to the eye.  Since the images were all topic related it let the reader know what they were viewing and what section they were in by the illustration as well as the title.

Would love to hear what you use Google for…

Leave me a comment and let me know what it is that this search engine has done for you lately.

Here is my little find from Facebook today…

Daily Prompt: Hubby & The Telemarketer

Daily Prompt: Unknown Caller

You receive a call from someone an unexpected person. Who is it, and what is the conversation about? Go!

035

You might say my hubby is a bit of a clown.  Since he is hard of hearing, that only makes the situation a little funnier sometimes.  This prompt actually brought two telephone calls to mind for me.  One was a telemarketer who has put us on the do not call list now on her end, not that we asked btw she insisted after speaking with him.

She was a Diabetic Supply Telemarketer who called to tell us that we had a free sample of Diabetic Supplies coming in the mail.  She needed our address of where to send them.

In his best Spanish accent he proceeded to tell her “Yes this is Emmanuel”.  “Oh, You are so wonderful.  My family in Mexico is in such need of this.  They will be so grateful.  Can you send 300 samples right away to VOVOVOVOdlddld Mexico?”
He gave an actual address that I have blocked out here that he had found on Google while talking to her.
She insisted that there was only one sample per family and he continued to tell her that he was hard of hearing and that his family was in dire need of the medical supplies.
This conversation continued for 45 minutes.
I lost track of how many times I begged him to stop.

Story two:

This one I made a video of.

To give some background on these three videos, my hubby is a junk food addict.  One of his favorites is Funyuns.  His brother in Lackawanna NY decided to get into this prank after seeing my post on You Tube so there is his answer here also.

Grab a cup of your favorite brew and enjoy.

I guess you could say it runs in the family.

Have a great day and try not to prank a telemarketer or call about your favorite snack today or people might say “You have too much time on your hands”

Here are what one other Daily Prompt Writers had to say:  (It is only 7:30 AM)

Homemade Dryer Sheets

I have heard so much about these and so many people are using the Tupperware containers to store them in that we can’t keep them in stock.  They are using the container with a neat lift out center to keep the liquid in the bottom for reuse.  I found a blog on another site with another great way to recycle flannel shirts and make them.

Homemade Dryer Sheets // Clean Living

I’ve heard from multiple friends how I should start creating my own laundry detergent (which trust me, it’s coming in the near future of clean living), but I hadn’t heard of anyone creating their own dryer sheets, so I looked to my good ole pal, Google, for some tricks and tips. I came to find, much like a lot of clean living recipes, that it’s easy as pie. I was definitely skeptical with the main ingredient being vinegar (cause we all know that’s a lovely smell..), but I was so happy with the result. Here’s how it’s done:
Supplies:
 Flannel fabric
1/2 cup vinegar
15 drops essential oil
Combine the vinegar and essential oil (I used lavender) into a small bowl and mix well. Next, cut the flannel into small 5×5 inch squares. Soak each square in the liquid mix, and lay them out to dry on an old towel. Once they have dried, store them in a sealed container. The vinegar smell will be strong at first, but once it’s gone through the dryer cycle the harsh odor will disappear and leave a fresh, clean scent. What I love about this is how soft the lavender scent is, not overwhelming in the slightest. Plus, the flannel is recyclable, so you’re doing mother nature a favor, as well your wallet. Sometimes, we all win. I’m okay with that.
