Sunday was a really big day in our home. My hubby had turned 60 on Saturday.
He had decided to be baptised. We also became members of our local church.
Thank you for traveling through our day…we had a huge picnic that was a wonderful success thanks to the wonderful women from Oakwood Freewill Baptist Church and all of their help. There was so much food that every table was full. Special thanks to Pastor James for the Baptisim and making such a difference in my hubby’s life. Also a special shout out to hubby’s son Christopher Green who helped in the kitchen as well as being the grill master for the day.
Tell us about your favorite meal, either to eat or to prepare.
Does it just taste great, or does it have other associations?
Photographers, artists, poets: show us FOOD.
In our home I cook from scratch for almost every meal that we have.
I use corn free products and shop at our local Korean Market to purchase items such as Rice Flour or Potato Starch, Rice Starch and Panko.
My Italian Bread Crumbs have to start with the Panko and then add my own Italian Spices.
Some we actually grow on our window sill in Winter months.
Our treat is when we can make a meal with guests visiting and then make a video while making the meal.
It not only creates a memory that will last, inspires our creative juices and makes the meal more interesting.
To have fun, and enjoy a nutritious meal with friends…
Who could ask for anything more.
Special shout out to our Veterans today and their Spouses… Thank you for your service to our Country!
Here are a few other inspirational ideas from Daily Prompt Writers:
If you could get all the nutrition you needed in a day with a pill — no worrying about what to eat, no food preparation — would you do it?
Photographers, artists, poets: show us NOURISHMENT.
I have days where this would absolutely be ideal. It would grow tiresome though as I do love to cook.
I love spending time in my kitchen and the food preparation is partially what it is all about.
If I popped a pill that would mean that there would never be any more food videos.
That would make me sad.
I did not realize that I had made six videos already till I went to put them on here.
I have actually been tempted to make another one lately.
I just have not found the recipe that sparks me to do it.
What recipe would you like to see made so that you would learn how to make it fast and easily?
Perhaps your responses will spark my next video…all comments will be considered.
If you have a favorite recipe that you would like to be made into a video just send it to my email.
Here are the responses that other Daily Prompt Writers had today about the little pill of nutrition:
On a weekend road trip, far away from home, you stumble upon a garage sale in a neighborhood you’re passing through. Astonished, you find an object among the belongings for sale that you recognize. Tell us about it.
Photographers, share an image that says MEMORY.
Rather than reach under a cupboard
On the top of the cabinets
If you look high upon the top of our kitchen cabinets, you will see a lot of various pottery pieces that we came across on a road trip.
They brought back memories from when I was growing up and were similar to pieces that my grandmother had.
That is the only spot in the house that our cat does not try to claim them. He has became better now that he owns his own boxes.
Memories are special as they usually bring back a happy time in life. Those are the ones that we recreate.
The pot rack was another memory that I had from the old farm house and I loved it.
When we had the opportunity to purchase it, I was so excited to not have to bend as much to cook.
What are your memory finds that you have come across while traveling?
Would love to hear.
Here are what other Daily Prompt Writers had to say today:
What do you display on the walls of your home — photos, posters, artwork, nothing?
How do you choose what to display?
What mood are you trying to create?
I am not certain if it is due to my hubby and I being two households come together or if it is just that by the time you are starting over for the second time life is different.
We do not have the newlywed look in our home of blank walls. We have the it was here and hers are added look. Our Kitchen and Dining area are combined and are not very large. They look country. The decor is such that we are in the country and the kitchen matches.
The television room looks like something out of a hunting lodge. Old fashioned popcorn poppers over a fireplace. Wildlife pictures on the wall as well as the fish that hang on the wall. It is the room that hubby spends a lot of time in and it makes him happy. Happy hubby helps.
Our bedroom I just redecorated so it is probably the only modern room in the house. A nice remake of Van Gogh’s Starry Night hangs so that is the last thing we see at night and first in the morning.
That room is simply decorated. Just a few shelves with a plant on one and a few paintings that match the decor.
Our home is still a work in progress just as our marriage is. Although we are older, we still are a work in progress and each room will some day express us.
What does your home say about you? Would love to hear.

Who doesn’t love a list? So write one! Top five slices of pizza in your town, ten reasons disco will never die, the three secrets to happiness — go silly or go deep, just go list-y.
Why do we make lists? What type of lists do we make? Are they to keep us organized, help us to remember or just something to doodle when in a meeting?
I decided to explore the different types of lists that people make. Here are my findings.
The Ever Famous Summer Bucket List…(Kids are out of school for break, have limited time to get it done in short time)
Then I began to think about what do we use list for besides…
Menus in Restaurants
Reading articles
Making Appointments
Having a party or wedding
Taking notes or inventory
Cleaning Lists
Hmmm
We make this so we do not impulse shop
Ah the Honey Do List…
Now it is time for me to make my list like the prompt said…
I need to decide which list to start with first…
Perhaps I need a list for my lists
Should they all be neatly lined on the fridge?
Do I line them up by importance?
What deems the list more important?
My fridge has a Honey Do and Grocery…
Both are forgotten by hubby…
If I could eat in a corn free restaurant, I would love a menu
I don’t drink, so I do not need a wine list.
I am a little old to start a bucket list
Today is day off from A-Z Challenge
Tomorrow I do the Letter M
That really is a list of sorts, yet broken down by day
It does not feel like a list that is in a list.
I guess you could easily say that my lists have lists.
Here are what some other Daily Prompt Writers had to say:
Does a messy home (or office) make you anxious and cranky, or is cleaning something you just do before company comes over?
Due to our lifestyle we are not as clean as I would like to be. With my hubby’s sleep pattern being what they are, I do not see any changes for a while in our lives.
I am able to keep my kitchen clean most of the time. That makes me happy. My cat rules in my office. That is his place. It is decorated to his liking only. He rearranges it daily and sometimes more than once a day.
He is old. This too will change in time. I have learned to be patient.
I did not blog yesterday as it was Easter. This is actually the blog from Easter Morning.
What is your home like? I would love to hear…leave a comment and let me know.
