Daily Prompt: Transporting Back To Youth through Taste Smell and Music

Daily Prompt: The Transporter

Tell us about a sensation — a taste, a smell, a piece of music — that transports you back to childhood.

The smell of an apple orchard, as I used to love to rest under the trees and read for hours during the Summer when the barn chores were finished.

The taste of fresh baked sugar cookies and the aroma in the house that it gives off… With a cup of fresh perked coffee.

Now for the music.  That is a tough one.  There was so much music that I listened to as a youth with my transistor radio/cassette player and head phones when it was not French lessons.

So there is a music play list for you….

What brings back memories for you?  Would love to hear…leave me a comment.

  4. Different tunes for different times for me. First Kiss to Abba’s ‘Dancing Queen’ and she had dumped me by the time ‘Knowing Me Knowing You’ was written. 😦

  6. I’m glad The Beatles is included in your music list. This popular band is one of the biggest part of my childhood. 😉

  8. Ooh, lots of interesting ones to respond to here – first the apple orchard. We had only 5 apple trees, but in the summer months I’d climb one of the trees with a book and fix myself firmly in the crook of some branches ignoring my mother’s attempts to locate me (avoiding housework!)
Music – hmm – Queen definitely – their unique voice was so much fun. Not so much the Beatles – and I cop lots of flak for not liking the music – I preferred the Rolling Stones. Favourite band today is Linkin Park.
Smell of coffee – never drunk the stuff (strong caffeine does weird things to my heart) – but it smells divine….
